Annelous started kiteboarding in the summer of 2009 and has been addicted to the wind ever since. Every windy day she would cycle 17 kilometers to the Brouwersdam to go for a kite session. In 2012 Annelous became European Freestyle Champion and in 2017 & 2019 she became KPL world tour champion. In 2020 Annelous decided to try out the Olympic discipline Formula kite. She progressed faster than she expected and decided to fully commit to her new goal, competing in the 2024 Olympics where kiteboarding will make it's debut.
